Important Warnings

  • If you are allergic to Haemate or any of its ingredients, do not use it. Stop treatment and contact your doctor immediately if you have signs of an allergic reaction.
  • If you have hemophilia A, your body might develop 'inhibitors' (antibodies) that stop the medicine from working. Tell your doctor right away if your bleeding can't be controlled.
  • If you have von Willebrand disease, antibodies might develop that make the treatment less effective. Your doctor will monitor your treatment closely.
  • If you have heart problems or are at risk for them, tell your doctor or pharmacist before using Haemate.
  • If you have von Willebrand disease, there is a higher chance of getting blood clots (like in your lungs) with Haemate, especially if you have other risk factors. Talk to your doctor if you have had blood clots before or have other risk factors.

  • If you need a central line to get Haemate, your doctor will watch for risks like infections or blood clots where the line is inserted.
  • Because this medicine comes from human plasma, there's a small risk of infection, even with careful checks. Your doctor may suggest Hepatitis A and B vaccines if you use this medicine often.
