How to Use

Dosage

The dosage will be determined by your doctor based on individual needs. It depends on age, weight, and if it is being used to prevent or treat nausea.

Method

Take the tablet with a glass of water. Follow your doctor's instructions.

Important

Prevention: Either 1mg twice a day, 2mg once a day or 1mg once a day. Treatment: Either 1mg twice a day, 2mg once a day or 1mg once a day. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Constipation
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Changes in liver function
  • Diarrhea
RARE
  • Skin rashes, allergic skin reactions or hives
  • Changes in heart rhythm and ECG
  • Abnormal involuntary movements
  • Serotonin syndrome

Important Warnings

  • Talk to your doctor if you have bowel obstruction, heart problems, are being treated with medication that can harm the heart, or have salt imbalances.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking other 5-HT3 antagonists, such as dolasetron or ondansetron.
  • Granisetron Stada is not suitable for children.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. May prolong the QT interval especially if combined with other preparations prolonging QT. (updated 20.5.2024)
