How to Use

Dosage

Take one 250 mg tablet once daily.

Method

Take the tablet at about the same time each day, with or without food. If you cannot swallow the tablet, dissolve it in half a glass of non-carbonated water, stir for up to 20 minutes, and drink immediately. Do not crush the tablet. Avoid antacids 2 hours before or 1 hour after taking this medicine.

Important

Do not exceed one 250 mg tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Skin rash, sometimes with itching, dry or cracked skin
  • Loss of appetite
  • Weakness or tiredness
  • Red or sore mouth
  • Increased liver enzyme levels in blood tests
  • Dry mouth
  • Dry, red, or itchy eyes
  • Red or sore eyelids
  • Nail problems
  • Hair loss
  • Fever
  • Bleeding (like nosebleeds or blood in urine)
  • Protein in urine
  • Increased bilirubin levels in blood tests
  • Increased creatinine levels in blood tests
  • Bladder infection (burning sensation during urination and frequent urge to urinate)
  • Allergic reaction (swollen face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing, hives, breathing problems)
  • Dehydration from severe diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, or loss of appetite
RARE
  • Severe shortness of breath, worsening breathing, cough, or fever (signs of lung inflammation)
  • Severe skin reactions (redness, pain, sores, blisters, peeling skin, or changes in lips, nose, eyes, and genitals)
  • Eye problems (pain, redness, watery eyes, light sensitivity, vision changes, or ingrown eyelashes)
  • Pancreatitis (severe upper abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting)
  • Liver inflammation (general discomfort, possible yellowing of skin/eyes)
  • Hole in the stomach or intestine
  • Skin reactions on palms and soles (tingling, numbness, pain, swelling, or redness)
  • Inflammation of blood vessels in the skin (may appear as bruises or a rash that does not fade)
  • Bladder inflammation with bleeding (burning sensation, frequent urination, and blood in urine)

Important Warnings

  • If you have had other lung problems, as some might get worse with this medicine.
  • If you have had liver problems.
  • This medicine is not for children or teenagers under 18 years old.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are breastfeeding.
  • This medicine can make you feel weak or dizzy, so do not drive or use machines if this happens.
