How to Use

Dosage

One tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. You can take it with or without food, but always at the same time each day.

Important

Maximum one tablet (5 mg finasteride) per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Inability to get an erection.
  • Decreased sexual desire.
  • Decreased amount of semen.
RARE
  • Rash.
  • Breast tenderness and/or enlargement.
  • Nipple discharge.
  • Difficulties with ejaculation.
  • Depression.
  • Severe allergic reactions, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty swallowing or breathing.
  • Palpitations (irregular heartbeat).
  • Elevated liver enzyme levels.
  • Testicular pain.
  • Erectile problems that continue after stopping treatment.
  • Decreased sexual desire that continues after stopping treatment.
  • Ejaculation difficulties that continue after stopping treatment.
  • Male infertility and/or poor semen quality.
  • Anxiety.
  • Blood in semen.
  • Male breast cancer.
  • Suicidal thoughts.

Important Warnings

  • Tell your doctor if you have difficulty emptying your bladder completely or if your urine stream is weak.
  • Tell your doctor if you are having a PSA blood test, as Gefina can affect the results.
  • Tell your doctor if you have problems with your liver.
  • Tell your doctor right away if you notice any changes in your breast tissue, such as lumps, pain, breast enlargement, or nipple discharge.
  • Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant must not handle broken or crushed Gefina tablets or come into contact with Gefina.
