Method

This medicine is taken by mouth or as an enema. It must not be given as an injection, and should not be used undiluted if your body's fluid levels are low (e.g., from severe diarrhea or vomiting).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine undiluted if you are dehydrated (e.g., due to severe diarrhea or vomiting) or if you are an infant or child, as this can cause serious problems.
  • Be very careful not to let this medicine get into your lungs, as it can cause severe and life-threatening breathing problems.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to its active ingredients (sodium amidotrizoate, meglumine amidotrizoate) or any other components.
  • Tell your doctor if you have previously had an allergic reaction to other contrast agents that contain iodine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have allergies (such as hay fever, hives) or asthma.
