Gadovist is a contrast medicine used in MRI scans to help doctors see parts of your body more clearly and find any changes.
Usually, you will get a single injection of 0.1 ml of Gadovist per kilogram of your body weight (e.g., 7 ml for a 70 kg person). For children, the dose is also 0.1 ml per kg body weight.
A healthcare professional will inject Gadovist into a vein using a small needle. Your MRI scan can start right away, and you will be monitored for at least 30 minutes after the injection.
The maximum total dose is 0.3 ml per kilogram of body weight for certain types of scans. You should not receive a second injection for at least 7 days.
