How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose, which usually starts at 300–900 mg per day and increases gradually.

Method

Take the capsules by mouth with plenty of water, usually divided into three doses: morning, afternoon, and evening.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 3600 mg.

  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)

  • Acute kidney failure

  • Increased breast tissue or breast enlargement
  • Withdrawal symptoms (anxiety, insomnia, nausea, pain, sweating, tremor, headache, chest pain)
  • Muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis)
  • Changes in blood test results (increased creatinine phosphokinase)
  • Sexual dysfunction (inability to achieve orgasm, delayed ejaculation)
  • Low sodium levels in blood
  • Anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction with breathing difficulties, swelling of lips, throat, or tongue, and low blood pressure requiring urgent treatment)
  • Gabapentin dependence ('drug addiction')

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Gabapentin Strides if you are allergic to gabapentin or any other ingredient.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or are on dialysis, as your dose may need to be adjusted.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting, as these could be signs of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or suicide, contact your doctor right away.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek immediate medical help if you get severe skin rashes, blisters, or peeling skin (possible signs of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, or DRESS syndrome).

  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience muscle weakness, tenderness, or pain, especially with fever or feeling unwell, as this could be a serious muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis).
  • Seek urgent medical attention if you experience severe breathing difficulties.
  • This medicine can cause dependence. If you feel you need to take it for longer than prescribed, contact your doctor.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.
