Fungorin is an antifungal medicine that stops or kills fungi, used for treating fungal infections of the nails, body, groin, and feet when other creams are not enough.

How to Use

Dosage

One tablet once a day for adults.

Method

Take with water. Swallow the tablet whole. You can take it with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Tablets can be divided.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day unless your doctor tells you to.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Decreased appetite.
  • Headache.
  • Stomach problems like indigestion, feeling full, bloating, nausea, mild stomach pain, or diarrhea.
  • Skin rash or itchy skin (hives).
  • Joint and muscle pain.
  • Feeling sad or down (depression) due to taste changes.
  • Changes in taste or loss of taste.
  • Dizziness.
  • Vision problems.
  • Feeling generally unwell or tired.
RARE
  • Anemia (low red blood cells).
  • Feeling worried (anxiety) due to taste changes.
  • Changes in touch sensation or abnormal feelings.
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
  • Skin being more sensitive to light.
  • Fever.
  • Weight loss (due to taste changes).
  • Serious liver problems or liver failure, with symptoms like itching, yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, pale stools, nausea, tiredness, or stomach pain in the upper right side.
  • Increased liver enzymes in blood tests.
  • Lupus erythematosus, a disease affecting the skin, joints, and kidneys.
  • Severe skin reactions such as widespread pus-filled rash, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, or skin peeling and blistering.
  • Severe allergic reactions, including swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue, which can make it hard to breathe.
  • Hair loss.
  • Prolonged taste changes.
  • Spinning dizziness (vertigo).
  • Psoriasis-like rash or worsening of existing psoriasis.
  • Changes in blood cell counts, such as low white blood cells or platelets.
  • Loss of smell (which can be permanent) or reduced sense of smell.
  • Blurred vision or reduced sharp vision.
  • Poor hearing or hearing loss.
  • Inflammation of blood vessels (vasculitis).
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).
  • Blocked or reduced bile flow from the liver (cholestasis).
  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis) or jaundice (yellow skin/eyes).
  • Allergic skin reactions to light, such as rashes when exposed to sun.
  • Severe muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis).
  • Flu-like illness.
  • Increased levels of a muscle enzyme (creatine phosphokinase) in the blood.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Fungorin if you are allergic to terbinafine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use Fungorin if you have chronic (long-term) or active liver disease.
  • Do not use Fungorin if you have severe kidney problems.
  • Talk to your doctor before taking Fungorin if you have any liver disease, psoriasis (a skin condition), or lupus erythematosus (an autoimmune disease).
  • If you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine. Do not breastfeed while taking Fungorin, as the medicine can pass into breast milk.

  • This medicine may cause dizziness. If you feel dizzy, do not drive or use machines.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Contraindicated in case of severe hepatic impairment. Consider potential significant interactions. (updated 11.9.2023)
