How to Use

Dosage

The starting dose is 1 capsule per day for the first month. Your doctor will determine your correct dose.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with water, preferably with food.

Important

Do not exceed your doctor's prescribed dose, usually 1 capsule per day. Too much can be harmful.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Too much calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia). Symptoms include feeling sick (nausea) or throwing up (vomiting), loss of appetite, constipation, stomach pain, feeling very thirsty, weakness, sleepiness, or confusion.
  • Too much calcium in the urine (hypercalciuria).
RARE
  • Rash.
  • Itching.
  • Hives.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to vitamin D or any other ingredients in it.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have too much vitamin D in your blood.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have high calcium levels in your blood or urine.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have kidney stones, calcium build-up in your kidneys, or severe kidney disease.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have kidney damage or disease, as they will need to check your calcium levels.

  • Talk to your doctor if you are being treated for a heart condition.
  • Talk to your doctor if you tend to form calcium kidney stones.
  • Talk to your doctor if your movement is very limited, as this can increase calcium levels in your blood or urine.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have sarcoidosis (an immune system disease that can affect different organs).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have pseudohypoparathyroidism (a condition where your need for vitamin D might be lower), to avoid getting too much vitamin D.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are taking other products that contain calcium or vitamin D, as your doctor will check your calcium levels.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children or teenagers under 18 years of age.
