Fucithalmic eye drops contain fusidic acid, an antibiotic that kills bacteria and is used to treat eye infections caused by bacteria sensitive to fusidic acid.

How to Use

Dosage

Apply 1 drop to the affected eye(s) twice a day.

Method

Wash your hands. Gently pull down your lower eyelid and place one drop inside. Avoid touching the eye or other surfaces with the dropper tip. The drops may feel thick but will clear with tears.

Important

Do not exceed 1 drop twice a day, unless advised by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Temporary blurred vision
  • Pain, burning, or stinging in the eye
  • Itchy eyes
  • Eye irritation or discomfort
RARE
  • Allergic reactions
  • Eyelid swelling
  • Watery eyes
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, possibly with difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Rash
  • Worsening eye inflammation (conjunctivitis)
  • Hives

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Fucithalmic if you are allergic to fusidic acid or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Using this medicine too often can make bacteria resistant to it.
  • Do not wear contact lenses while using Fucithalmic eye drops, as the drops contain tiny crystals that can scratch them. You can use contact lenses again 12 hours after finishing treatment. Also, this medicine may cause temporary blurred vision after use, so be careful when driving or operating machinery.
