How to Use

Dosage

Take one 2.5 mg tablet as soon as a migraine headache starts. If the headache returns within 24 hours, you can take a second tablet, but wait at least 2 hours.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. It can be taken with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than 5 mg (two tablets) within 24 hours.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to frovatriptan or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have had a heart attack, heart disease, stroke, untreated high blood pressure, or severe liver disease.
  • Do not take with ergotamine-based migraine medicines or other triptans.
  • Stop taking and call a doctor immediately if you have chest pain, trouble breathing, or signs of a severe allergic reaction (like rash, swelling of face or tongue).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have risk factors for heart disease (e.g., you smoke, are a man over 40, or a woman in/after menopause).

  • This medicine is not for children under 18 or adults over 65 years old.
  • Avoid taking with St. John's Wort or certain antidepressants (MAOI inhibitors).
  • Be careful when driving or using machines, as this medicine or migraine itself can make you sleepy.
