How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 75–150 IU once daily; the dose may be adjusted by your doctor.

Method

The medicine is injected under the skin or into a muscle.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 225 IU, but can be up to 450 IU for certain treatments as directed by your doctor.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Fostimon if you have ovarian tumors or cysts not caused by hormones, or if you have cancer of the ovaries, uterus, or breasts.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have a tumor in your pituitary gland or hypothalamus.
  • Tell your doctor if you are allergic to urofollitropin or other ingredients in Fostimon.
  • Fostimon can increase the risk of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), where your ovaries swell and you may feel abdominal pain. Contact your doctor immediately if you have these symptoms.
  • Fostimon must not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Treatment may increase the risk of having more than one baby (multiple pregnancy) and miscarriage.
  • There is a small risk of getting a blood clot (thrombosis), especially if you or your family have had them before. Discuss this with your doctor before starting treatment.
