How to Use

Dosage

A typical starting dose is 75-225 IU daily. Your doctor will tell you the exact dose.

Method

It is given as an injection under the skin or into a muscle, once a day. Your doctor or nurse will show you how to give the injection.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 450 IU.

  • Difficulty stopping bleeding

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to Fostimon or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have certain types of ovarian cysts or enlarged ovaries not caused by a hormone problem.
  • Do not use if you have unexplained bleeding from your vagina.
  • Do not use if you have cancer of the ovaries, womb, or breast.
  • Do not use if you have a tumor in your pituitary gland or hypothalamus (parts of the brain).

  • Do not use if you have early menopause, problems with your reproductive organs, or womb tumors that would prevent a normal pregnancy.
  • Fostimon increases the risk of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), where your ovaries overreact. Call your doctor right away if you get bad belly pain, feel sick, vomit, or gain weight quickly.
  • Miscarriages are more common for women with fertility problems.
  • There is a higher chance of multiple pregnancies (like twins) with fertility treatments.
  • Ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the womb) is slightly more common in women with damaged fallopian tubes.
  • Fostimon treatment can increase the risk of blood clots. Tell your doctor if you or your family have a history of blood clots, or if you are very overweight.
  • This medicine is made from human urine. There is a very small, but not impossible, risk of infection transfer.
  • Do not use Fostimon if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Be careful when doing these activities.
