Fosrenol is used to lower high phosphate levels in the blood for adults with long-term kidney disease by binding phosphate from food in the digestive system.
Initially, you will typically take one tablet with each meal, usually three times a day. Your doctor will adjust your dose based on your blood phosphate levels.
Take Fosrenol with or immediately after food. Chew the tablets thoroughly; do not swallow them whole. You can crush the tablets if chewing is difficult. You do not need liquid with them.
Your doctor will determine the maximum daily dose for you based on your blood phosphate levels.
