Fosrenol is used to lower high phosphate levels in the blood for adult patients with chronic kidney disease.
Your doctor will tell you how many tablets to take based on your diet and blood phosphate levels; the usual starting dose is one tablet with each meal (three tablets daily), which can be adjusted.
Take the tablets with food or right after a meal. Chew the tablets well or crush them, do not swallow them whole.
Your doctor will adjust your dose regularly until your blood phosphate levels are at an acceptable level.
