How to Use

Dosage

For regular use, take 1 inhalation once or twice a day. Some asthma patients may need 2 inhalations once or twice a day. For exercise-induced breathing problems, take 1 inhalation before exercise.

Method

Use the inhaler device provided in the package to breathe in the medicine from the capsule. Do not swallow the capsule. Take the capsule out of its packaging just before use.

Important

Do not take more than 4 inhalations in one day. Do not take more than 2 inhalations at a single time.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Palpitations (fast or fluttering heartbeat)
  • Fast heart rate
  • Tremor (shaking)
RARE
  • Feeling agitated, confused, anxious, nervous, restless, or having trouble sleeping
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Severe breathing difficulties (tightening of airways)
  • Muscle cramps, muscle pain
  • Irritation in the mouth and throat
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., severe drop in blood pressure, rash, hives, itching, swelling of face/limbs)
  • Low potassium levels in the blood
  • Irregular or fast heart rhythms, extra heartbeats
  • Nausea
  • Changes in taste
  • High blood sugar levels
  • Chest pain from exercise (angina pectoris)
  • Changes in heart's electrical activity (prolonged QT interval)
  • Changes in blood pressure

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Formoterol Stada if you are allergic to formoterol, lactose, or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • Do not switch from another formoterol medicine to Formoterol Stada without talking to your doctor.
  • This medicine is for long-term treatment and should not be used for sudden asthma attacks. For acute attacks, use a fast-acting inhaler.
  • If you often need this medicine to prevent breathing problems from exercise, it might mean your asthma is not well controlled. Talk to your doctor to review your treatment.
  • You must also use other anti-inflammatory medicines (like corticosteroids) as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop or reduce their dose on your own, even if you feel better with Formoterol Stada.

  • If you suddenly have difficulty breathing or wheezing right after using the inhaler, stop using Formoterol Stada and contact your doctor immediately. This is very rare.
  • Formoterol Stada may cause a positive result in doping tests.
