How to Use

Dosage

For asthma (long-term): Take 1 or 2 inhalations once or twice a day. For asthma (before exercise): Take 1 inhalation before exercise. For COPD (long-term): Take 1 inhalation once or twice a day, with extra doses if needed.

Method

You should only breathe in this medicine using an inhaler. Do not swallow the capsules.

Important

Do not take more than 4 inhalations in a day. Also, do not take more than 2 inhalations at one time.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Shaking hands or body (tremor)
  • Headache
  • Pounding heart (palpitations)
RARE
  • Allergic reactions like rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • Low potassium in blood
  • High blood sugar
  • Feeling restless, anxious, or nervous; trouble sleeping
  • Dizziness
  • Changes in taste
  • Fast heart rate
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Chest pain or tightness
  • Changes in blood pressure
  • Sore throat or mouth
  • Severe cough or wheezing
  • Feeling sick (nausea)
  • Muscle cramps or pain
  • Sudden severe difficulty breathing (bronchospasm)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to Formaxa or any of its ingredients.
  • This medicine is for long-term treatment and not for sudden asthma attacks. For sudden attacks, use your fast-acting "rescue" inhaler.
  • Always follow your doctor's instructions. Do not change your dose or stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor first.
  • Tell your doctor about any heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, or thyroid issues you have.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using Formaxa.
