How to Use

Dosage

Two inhalations (puffs) twice a day, usually two in the morning and two in the evening.

Method

Use your inhaler regularly, two puffs in the morning and two in the evening. Rinse your mouth with water or brush your teeth after each use to prevent soreness and hoarseness. Follow your doctor's instructions.

Important

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor, which is usually four inhalations per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Worsening of asthma

  • Irregular heartbeat or palpitations

  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Voice changes or hoarseness
  • Dry mouth, sore throat, or throat irritation

RARE
  • Increased blood sugar levels (if you have diabetes, you may need to check your blood sugar more often and adjust your treatment)
  • Thrush or other fungal infections in the mouth or throat
  • Sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses)
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Chest pain related to heart disease
  • Muscle cramps or twitching
  • Cough or shortness of breath
  • Diarrhea
  • Digestive problems
  • Changes in taste
  • Feeling dizzy or lightheaded
  • Unusual dreams
  • Agitation
  • Itchy skin
  • High blood pressure
  • Unusual feeling of weakness
  • Swelling of hands, ankles, or feet

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to fluticasone propionate, formoterol fumarate, or any other ingredients.
  • This medicine is for prevention; it will not work for a sudden asthma attack. Use a fast-acting reliever inhaler for an acute attack.
  • If your breathing worsens right after using the inhaler (more wheezing or shortness of breath), stop using it, use your fast-acting reliever, and seek medical help immediately.
  • Tell your doctor if you have tuberculosis, a lung infection, heart problems, an aneurysm, diabetes, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, low potassium, adrenal gland problems, or liver problems.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other eye problems.

  • Inform your doctor if you are going to have surgery or are under a lot of stress, as your steroid treatment might need adjustment.
