How to Use

Dosage

Adults and children 12 years and older usually start with 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. When symptoms improve, you may reduce to 1 spray in each nostril once a day. Children 6 to 11 years usually start with 1 spray in each nostril once a day. If symptoms are very bad, your doctor might increase it to 2 sprays in each nostril once a day until controlled, then reduce to 1 spray.

Method

Use once daily at the same time each day. Spray into your nose. Be careful not to get the spray in your eyes; if it happens, rinse your eyes with water.

Important

Do not use more than 2 sprays in each nostril per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nosebleeds, especially if used for more than 6 weeks
  • Sores or discomfort inside the nose, which may include blood when blowing your nose
  • Headache
  • Shortness of breath
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions (wheezing, coughing, breathing difficulties, sudden weakness or dizziness that could lead to fainting or unconsciousness, swelling of the face, skin rash or redness; seek urgent medical help)
  • Pain, burning, irritation, soreness, or dryness inside the nose
  • Small holes (perforations) in the wall separating your nostrils
  • Slowed growth in children
  • Blurred vision or temporary changes in vision (with long-term use)
  • Chest tightness causing breathing difficulty
  • Voice changes or loss of voice
  • Taste changes, loss of taste, or loss of smell

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to fluticasone furoate or any other ingredient.
  • This medicine is not for children under 6 years old.
  • Using this medicine for a long time might slow down growth in children. Your doctor will check your child's height regularly.
  • This medicine may cause eye problems like glaucoma (high pressure in the eye) or cataracts (cloudy eye lens). Tell your doctor if you have had these problems or if you notice blurred vision or other eye issues.
  • Do not use this medicine at the same time as other steroid nasal sprays.

  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medicines, especially steroid tablets, injections or creams, asthma medicines, ritonavir or cobicistat (for HIV), or ketoconazole (for fungal infections).
  • This medicine contains benzalkonium chloride, which can irritate or cause swelling inside your nose, especially with long-term use. Tell your doctor if you feel uncomfortable.
