How to Use

Dosage

The dose depends on your infection and age. For adults, it's usually 50–400 mg once daily. For children, the dose is based on weight, starting from 3 mg/kg daily.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. It's best to take the capsules at the same time each day.

Important

For adults, the maximum daily dose can be up to 800 mg. For children, the maximum daily dose is 400 mg per day, or based on weight for very young children.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting
  • Changes in liver blood tests
  • Rash
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions including widespread rash, fever, swollen glands, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face/lips.
  • Low red blood cells (anemia), causing pale skin, weakness, or shortness of breath.
  • Seizures, dizziness, spinning sensation (vertigo), tingling, numbness, or changes in taste.
  • Serious liver damage, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, pale stools, fatigue, loss of appetite, or vomiting.
  • Changes in blood counts, such as low white blood cells or platelets, leading to more infections, easy bruising, or unusual bleeding.
  • Changes in heart rhythm or an abnormal ECG.
  • Hair loss.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to fluconazole or any other ingredient in the medicine, or to similar antifungal medicines.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you are taking astemizole, terfenadine, cisapride, pimozide, quinidine, or erythromycin, as these should not be taken with Fluconazol Krka.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems (including irregular heartbeat).
  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor right away if you get a widespread rash, fever, swollen lymph nodes, or severe skin reactions (like blistering or peeling skin).
  • Tell your doctor if you experience symptoms of adrenal insufficiency (e.g., persistent tiredness, muscle weakness, lack of appetite, weight loss, abdominal pain).

  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding (if taking repeated doses), unless your doctor specifically tells you to.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness or seizures, so be careful when driving or operating machinery.
