How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose based on the infection and your age. Always follow your doctor's instructions.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. It is best to take your medicine at the same time each day.

Important

Your doctor will prescribe your maximum daily dose. For adults, it can be up to 800 mg per day, for children up to 400 mg per day (or based on weight).

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Stomach pain, diarrhea, feeling sick, or vomiting
  • Changes in liver blood test results
  • Rash
RARE
  • Fewer red blood cells (can cause pale skin, weakness, shortness of breath)
  • Dizziness, vertigo, or seizures
  • Liver damage and yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Severe allergic reactions, such as swelling of the face, lips, or throat, or a serious rash
  • Hair loss

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to fluconazole or any other ingredients in the medicine. An allergic reaction can cause itching, red skin, or trouble breathing.
  • If you get severe skin reactions like widespread rash, blisters, or peeling skin, stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor right away.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a heart condition or an irregular heartbeat.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C
