How to Use

Dosage

The dose varies depending on the type of infection, but a typical dose for vaginal yeast infection is 150 mg once.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. It is best to take it at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose for adults can be up to 800 mg for severe infections, but your doctor will tell you the right dose.

  • Changes in blood test results for liver function

  • Reduced red blood cells (can cause pale skin, weakness, and shortness of breath)
  • Decreased appetite
  • Insomnia, drowsiness
  • Seizures, dizziness, vertigo, tingling or numbness, changes in taste
  • Constipation, indigestion, gas, dry mouth
  • Muscle pain
  • Liver damage and yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Drug-induced rash, hives, itching, increased sweating
  • Tiredness, general discomfort, fever
  • Reduced white blood cells
  • Reduced platelets or other blood cell changes (may cause red or purple skin discoloration)
  • High cholesterol and fat levels in blood
  • Low potassium levels in blood
  • Tremors
  • Irregular heart rhythm (changes in ECG, heart rate or rhythm)
  • Liver failure
  • Severe allergic reactions (including widespread blistering rash, skin peeling, facial swelling, hair loss)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to fluconazole, other antifungal medicines, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking astemizole, terfenadine, cisapride, pimozide, quinidine, or erythromycin, as these cannot be taken with Fluconazol Krka.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have a heart condition, including an irregular heartbeat.
  • Stop taking the medicine and see a doctor right away if you get a widespread rash, fever, swollen lymph nodes, or severe skin reactions like blistering or peeling skin, especially around the mouth.

  • Talk to your doctor if you notice signs of adrenal insufficiency, such as constant tiredness, muscle weakness, loss of appetite, weight loss, or stomach pain.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Risk of QT prolongation. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Monitor liver values. Consider the numerous potential interactions, especially with warfarin. (updated 4.12.2023)
