How to Use

Dosage

For adults and adolescents over 16, typically 100-1000 micrograms twice a day. For children and adolescents aged 4-16, typically 50-200 micrograms twice a day. Always follow your doctor's instructions.

Method

Inhale the medicine into your lungs. After each use, rinse your mouth with water to reduce the risk of side effects like thrush.

Important

Do not exceed 2000 micrograms per day for adults and adolescents over 16, and 400 micrograms per day for children and adolescents aged 4-16.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Thrush in the mouth or throat.
  • Hoarseness.
  • Easy bruising.
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face/throat, difficulty breathing) - seek medical help immediately.
  • Skin reactions (rash, itching).
  • Thrush in the food pipe.
  • Changes in body shape (e.g., 'moon face'), muscle weakness, or thin bones (signs of Cushing's syndrome).
  • Adrenal gland problems (feeling very tired, weak, or dizzy).
  • Slowed growth in children and teenagers.
  • Eye problems (like cataracts or glaucoma).
  • High blood sugar.
  • Feeling anxious, having trouble sleeping, or changes in behavior (like being restless or irritable, especially in children).
  • Wheezing or difficulty breathing immediately after using the inhaler (paradoxical bronchospasm).
  • Feeling sad or acting aggressive (especially in children).
  • Nosebleeds.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to fluticasone propionate or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have lung infections like tuberculosis, fungal, or viral infections.
  • If you are switching from oral steroid tablets, you might experience old allergic symptoms (like runny nose or rash), tiredness, headache, or muscle/joint pain at the start of treatment.
  • Do not change your dose if your asthma symptoms get worse without talking to your doctor.
  • Contact your doctor if you use your quick-relief asthma medicine more often than usual or if it doesn't work as well.

  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other eye problems, which might be signs of cataracts or glaucoma.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, especially medicines for HIV (like ritonavir or cobicistat) or fungal infections (like ketoconazole), as they can increase the effects of Flixotide Evohaler.
  • Do not stop using this medicine suddenly, as your asthma symptoms might get worse. Always talk to your doctor first.
