How to Use

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 16 years: 100-1000 micrograms twice a day. Children and adolescents aged 4-16 years: 50-200 micrograms twice a day.

Method

Inhale the powder through the Diskus device. Rinse your mouth with water immediately after each inhalation.

Important

For adults and adolescents over 16 years, the maximum daily dose is 2000 micrograms (1000 micrograms twice a day). For children aged 4-16 years, the maximum daily dose is 400 micrograms (200 micrograms twice a day).

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Oral and throat thrush (candidiasis)
  • Hoarseness
  • Tendency to bruise
RARE
  • Skin allergic reactions
  • Esophageal thrush (candidiasis of the esophagus)
  • Cushing's syndrome and related symptoms (e.g., body and face swelling, muscle wasting, bone loss, high blood pressure, mental symptoms)
  • Adrenal gland underactivity
  • Slowed growth in children and adolescents
  • Cataracts, glaucoma (eye conditions)
  • High blood sugar
  • Anxiety, sleep problems, behavioral changes including hyperactivity and irritability (mainly in children)
  • Worsening wheezing right after using the medicine (paradoxical bronchospasm)
  • Depression, aggressive behavior (especially in children)
  • Nosebleeds
  • Blurred vision

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to fluticasone propionate, lactose monohydrate, or milk protein.
  • Tell your doctor if you have respiratory infections like tuberculosis, fungal, or viral infections.
  • If you have been treated with steroid tablets, follow your doctor's instructions carefully when switching to Flixotide Diskus. You might feel tired, have a headache, muscle or joint pain, or feel sick during the change.
  • If your wheezing gets worse right after using the medicine, use a fast-acting asthma reliever and contact your doctor immediately.
  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes.

  • Do not change your dose without consulting your doctor if your asthma symptoms get worse.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other eye problems that could be caused by cataracts or glaucoma.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • Do not stop using this medicine suddenly, as your symptoms may get worse. Talk to your doctor if you want to stop the treatment.
