How to Use

Dosage

Adults and children over 12: Use 2 sprays in each nostril once a day, usually in the morning. Children 6-11 years: Use 1 spray in each nostril once a day, usually in the morning.

Method

Spray into your nostrils. Be careful not to get the spray in your eyes.

Important

Do not use more than 2 sprays in each nostril twice a day for adults and children over 12. For children 6-11 years, do not use more than 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. Do not use for children under 6 years.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nosebleeds.
RARE
  • Dryness or irritation in the nose or throat.
  • When blowing your nose, you might see blood streaks on a tissue.
  • Headache.
  • Unpleasant taste or smell.
  • Severe allergic reactions, including rash, swelling of the face, mouth, or tongue, difficulty swallowing or breathing, sudden wheezing or coughing, and feeling faint. If this happens, stop using the spray and see a doctor immediately.
  • Eye problems like cloudy vision (cataracts) or increased pressure in the eye (glaucoma) that can affect vision.
  • Small holes in the wall between your nostrils (nasal septum perforation).
  • Blurred vision.
  • Nose sores.

Important Warnings

  • Talk to your doctor if you have a nasal or sinus infection, or if you recently had steroid injections or pills.
  • If you have sores in your nose, have had nose surgery, or nose injuries, a doctor should monitor your treatment.
  • Tell your doctor if you have adrenal gland problems (Addison's disease) or are taking ritonavir.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other eye problems, which could be due to cataracts or glaucoma.
