How to Use

Dosage

For the first 2-3 days, take ½ effervescent tablet three times daily. After that, take ½ effervescent tablet twice daily.

Method

Dissolve the effervescent tablet in a glass of water and drink the solution after a meal. The tablet can be divided into equal halves.

Important

Do not take more than 1½ effervescent tablets (90 mg ambroxol hydrochloride) per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Taste disturbance
  • Nausea, reduced sensitivity in the mouth or throat
RARE
  • Vomiting, diarrhea, upper abdominal discomfort, stomach pain, dry mouth
  • Fever
  • Hypersensitivity reactions
  • Skin rash, hives (urticaria)
  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylactic reactions, including shock), angioedema (sudden swelling of skin, tissues under skin, mucous membranes), and itching
  • Severe skin reactions (including erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis, and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis)
  • Dry throat

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to ambroxol hydrochloride or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Not for children under 12 years of age.
  • If you have a history of severe skin reactions (like Stevens-Johnson syndrome or Lyell's syndrome). If you develop a rash or blisters, stop taking the medicine and contact a doctor immediately.
  • If you have histamine intolerance, avoid long-term use, as it may cause symptoms like headache or itching.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease; you might need a lower dose or to take it less often.

  • If you have a rare lung disease where mucus is hard to clear, take this medicine only under a doctor's supervision.
  • If you have a history of stomach ulcers, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine, as mucus-thinning agents can affect the stomach lining.
  • Do not use cough suppressants that block the cough reflex, as coughing helps clear mucus from your lungs.
  • Use only as directed by a doctor during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
  • Do not take this medicine for more than 4-5 days without medical advice. If symptoms do not improve or worsen, contact a doctor immediately.
