How to Use

Dosage

Children 6-12 years: Half a tablet 2 to 3 times a day. Adults and adolescents over 12 years: For the first 2-3 days, one tablet 3 times a day. After that, one tablet 2 times a day.

Method

Take by mouth. Swallow the tablet whole after meals with enough liquid (like water or juice). The tablet can be divided into two equal doses.

Important

Children 6-12 years: 1 and a half tablets per day. Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 3 tablets per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nausea (feeling sick to your stomach).
RARE
  • Vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and indigestion.
  • Fever, reactions on mucous membranes (like in the mouth or nose).
  • Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity reactions).
  • Skin rash, hives (itchy bumps on the skin).
  • Increased saliva production.
  • Severe allergic reactions including anaphylactic shock (a very serious allergic reaction that can cause breathing problems and a drop in blood pressure), swelling under the skin and around the face (angioedema), and itching.
  • Very serious skin reactions (like widespread skin blistering and peeling, which can be life-threatening).
  • Difficulty breathing (as a sign of an allergic reaction).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to ambroxol hydrochloride or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not give to children under 6 years of age.
  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor right away if you get a skin rash (with or without blisters) or sores in your mouth, throat, nose, eyes, or genital area. This could be a sign of a severe skin reaction (like Stevens-Johnson syndrome or Lyell's syndrome).
  • If you have kidney problems or severe liver disease, use this medicine with caution and only as directed by your doctor. Your doctor may adjust your dose.
  • If you have a rare lung condition where you produce a lot of mucus but cannot cough it up, only use this medicine under your doctor's supervision.

  • Do not use this medicine with cough suppressants (medicines that stop you from coughing), as this can cause mucus to build up dangerously in your lungs.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine. It is generally not recommended during the first 3 months of pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
  • If you have problems with certain sugars (lactose intolerance), talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, as it contains lactose.
  • If your symptoms do not improve after 4-5 days, or if they get worse, contact your doctor.
