Flagyl is a vaginal suppository that treats vaginal infections caused by certain bacteria and parasites.
For Trichomonas infection, use one 500 mg suppository daily in the evening for 10 days. For bacterial vaginosis, use one suppository daily in the evening for 7 days. Your doctor will tell you which one applies.
Insert the vaginal suppository deep into the back of the vagina, usually in the evening. Wash hands before and after use. If softened, cool it in cold water for a few minutes before opening.
Use only one suppository per day, exactly as your doctor has told you.
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. In topical use, there is absorption through mucous membranes and broken skin. Consider potential interactions especially with warfarin. (updated 21.10.2024)
