How to Use

Dosage

The starting dose is one 250 microgram tablet once daily for the first 28 days; after that, the maintenance dose is one 500 microgram tablet once daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food, and take it at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one 500 microgram tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain
  • Weight loss, decreased appetite
  • Headache
RARE
  • Tremors, dizziness (spinning sensation)
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat (palpitations)
  • Stomach inflammation, vomiting
  • Acid reflux, indigestion
  • Rash
  • Muscle pain, weakness, or cramps
  • Back pain
  • Feeling of weakness or tiredness, malaise
  • Enlarged breasts in men
  • Impaired sense of taste
  • Respiratory tract infections (excluding pneumonia)
  • Bloody stools, constipation
  • Increased liver or muscle enzyme levels (seen in blood tests)
  • Hives (nettle rash)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Firekol if you are allergic to roflumilast or any other ingredient, or if you have moderate to severe liver problems.
  • Firekol is not for sudden breathing attacks; you need a separate medicine for those.
  • Tell your doctor if you lose weight without trying while taking this medicine.
  • Do not take Firekol if you have certain severe conditions like serious immune system diseases (e.g., HIV, MS), severe acute infections (e.g., hepatitis), cancer (except certain skin cancer), or severe heart failure. Discuss with your doctor if you have any of these.
  • In the first few weeks, you might have diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, or headache. If these don't go away, talk to your doctor.

  • If you have a history of depression or suicidal thoughts, or if you feel sleepless, anxious, nervous, or sad, tell your doctor before starting Firekol. Report any changes in mood or behavior immediately.
  • This medicine should not be given to children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
