How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one hard capsule per day.

Method

Take Fingolimod Ailon once daily with a glass of water. Swallow the hard capsule whole without opening it. You can take it with or without food.

Important

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Flu-like infection (tiredness, chills, sore throat, joint or muscle pain, fever)
  • Sinus infection (pressure or pain in cheeks and forehead)
  • Headache
  • Diarrhea
  • Back pain
  • Increased liver enzymes (shown in blood tests)
  • Cough
  • Slow heart rate (bradycardia), irregular heart rhythm
  • Herpes infection (shingles) with skin rashes, stinging, itching, or pain
  • Basal cell skin cancer (pearl-like bumps or other forms)
  • Weight loss
  • Depression
  • Ringworm (fungal skin infection)
  • Dizziness
  • Severe headache with nausea, vomiting, and light sensitivity (migraine)
  • Low white blood cell count (lymphocytes, leukocytes)
  • Weakness
  • Itchy, red, burning rash (eczema)
  • Itching
  • Increased blood fat levels (triglycerides)
  • Hair loss
  • Shortness of breath
  • Blurred vision
  • High blood pressure
  • Muscle pain
  • Joint pain
RARE
  • Pneumonia (fever, cough, difficulty breathing)
  • Macular edema (swelling in the eye's central vision, causing shadows, blind spots, blurred vision, difficulty seeing colors)
  • Low platelet count (increased risk of bleeding or bruising)
  • Melanoma (a type of skin cancer, often starting from unusual moles)
  • Seizures (convulsions)
  • Low neutrophil count (a type of white blood cell)
  • Low mood
  • Nausea
  • Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) with severe headache, confusion, seizures, or vision problems
  • Lymphoma (a type of cancer affecting the immune system)
  • Squamous cell carcinoma (a type of skin cancer, appearing as a red lump or a sore)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you have a weakened immune system, a serious active infection (like hepatitis or tuberculosis), or active cancer.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver problems or certain heart problems, including irregular heartbeats or if you have had a heart attack or stroke in the past 6 months.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or could become pregnant and are not using effective birth control.
  • This medicine can slow your heart rate, especially after the first dose, so you will be monitored by a doctor.
  • You may be more prone to infections while taking this medicine and for up to two months after stopping it. Seek medical help if you develop symptoms of infection.

  • There is a risk of skin cancer, so protect your skin from the sun and check for new or changing moles. Tell your doctor about any skin changes.
  • This medicine can cause swelling in the eye (macular edema) which may lead to blurred vision; eye exams will be needed.
  • It can affect your liver function. Report any symptoms like yellow skin/eyes, dark urine, or stomach pain to your doctor immediately.
