How to Use
Dosage
Take one 5 mg tablet once a day.
Method
Swallow the tablet whole, with or without food. Do not crush or split it.
Important
The maximum recommended dose is one 5 mg tablet per day.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Decreased sexual desire
- •Difficulty getting or keeping an erection (impotence)
- •Decreased amount of semen during ejaculation
RARE
- •Skin rash
- •Problems with ejaculation
- •Breast tenderness or pain
- •Breast enlargement
- •Nipple discharge
- •Lumps in the breasts
- •Allergic reactions (such as swelling of your face, lips, tongue, throat, difficulty swallowing, hives, or breathing problems)
- •Feelings of anxiety or depression
- •Suicidal thoughts
- •Testicular pain
- •Infertility in men and/or poor sperm quality
- •Sexual side effects that continue after stopping the medicine (e.g., decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, ejaculation problems)
- •Male breast cancer
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to finasteride or any other ingredient in this medicine.
- This medicine is not for women or children.
- If your partner is pregnant or may become pregnant, you must avoid exposing her to your semen, as it might contain small amounts of the medicine.
- Pregnant women should not handle broken or crushed tablets.
- Tell your doctor if you have a lot of urine left in your bladder or a weak urine flow.

- Tell your doctor if you have liver problems.
- Your doctor will check your prostate and do a blood test (PSA test) before and during treatment.
- Contact your doctor immediately if you notice breast changes like lumps, pain, enlargement, or nipple discharge, as these can be signs of a serious condition like breast cancer.
- If you feel depressed, sad, or have suicidal thoughts, contact your doctor as soon as possible.
- Stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you have signs of a severe allergic reaction like swelling of your face, tongue, or throat; trouble swallowing; hives; or trouble breathing.
- This medicine can affect the results of a PSA blood test for prostate cancer screening.
