How to Use

Dosage

Usually, you start with one 4 mg tablet once a day, but your doctor might increase the dose to one 8 mg tablet once a day depending on how you respond.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew it. You can take it with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to fesoterodine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you cannot empty your bladder completely or have difficulty emptying it (e.g., due to an enlarged prostate).
  • Do not take if your stomach empties too slowly, or if you have severe colon problems (ulcers, very enlarged colon), or severe constipation.
  • Do not take if you have an uncontrolled eye condition called narrow-angle glaucoma (high pressure in your eye).
  • Do not take if you have severe muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis).

  • Do not take if you have severe liver problems or severe kidney problems, especially if you take certain other medicines (e.g., for infections or depression).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have heart problems, such as an abnormal heart rhythm, a slow heart rate, or a heart condition where blood flow to the heart muscle is reduced.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have a urinary tract infection.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine may cause blurred vision, dizziness, or drowsiness. Do not drive or use machines if you feel these effects.
  • Stop taking the medicine and get help right away if you have swelling of your face, mouth, or throat, as this could be a serious allergic reaction.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Anticholinergic. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Consider potential adverse effects, such as tachycardia, confusion and cognitive impairment. Increases risk of falls. Reduces the effectiveness of drugs for Alzheimer’s disease. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 25.11.2024)
