How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is one 4 mg tablet once a day. Your doctor may prescribe a higher dose of one 8 mg tablet per day if you need it.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew it. You can take the medicine with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than one 8 mg tablet per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to fesoterodine, peanuts, soy, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you cannot empty your bladder completely.
  • Do not use if your stomach empties slowly.
  • Do not use if you have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma (high eye pressure).
  • Do not use if you have a severe muscle weakness condition (myasthenia gravis).

  • Do not use if you have severe colon inflammation (like ulcerative colitis) or an abnormally enlarged colon.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver or kidney problems and are taking certain medicines for fungal infections, HIV, bacterial infections, or depression.
  • Do not take Fesoterodine Accord if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as its effects on the unborn baby or infant are not known.
  • Fesoterodine Accord may cause blurred vision, dizziness, and drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these effects.
  • If you have been told you have an intolerance to some sugars, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, as it contains lactose.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Anticholinergic. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Consider potential adverse effects, such as tachycardia, confusion and cognitive impairment. Increases risk of falls. Reduces the effectiveness of drugs for Alzheimer’s disease. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 25.11.2024)
