How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much Ferulinor to take, as the dose is specific to your condition.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not break, open, or chew them. You can take them with or without food, around the same time each day.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose. Do not take more than your doctor prescribes.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Tiredness and weakness due to reduced red blood cells (anemia)
  • Skin rash, itching, dry skin, redness, peeling, hives, skin darkening, or bruising
  • Muscle cramps, weakness, and pain; bone, joint, back, neck, or limb pain
  • Swelling in general, including arms, legs, and joints
  • General tiredness and weakness
  • Fever and flu-like symptoms such as chills, muscle pain, headache, earache, and cough
  • Numbness, tingling, burning feeling on skin, pain in hands or feet, dizziness, or shaking
  • Less appetite or changes in taste
  • More pain, or the tumor getting bigger or redder around it
  • Weight loss
  • Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn, bleeding from gums or stomach, sore or dry mouth
  • Low levels of potassium, calcium, sodium, phosphate, or magnesium in your blood
  • Underactive thyroid gland
  • Leg pain, chest pain, or shortness of breath (these can be signs of a blood clot)
  • Different types of infections, like sinus, lung, and common cold infections
  • Shortness of breath
  • Blurred or poor vision, or clouding of the eye (cataract)
  • Kidney problems or abnormal test results showing kidneys not working well
  • Abnormal liver test results or higher liver enzyme levels
  • Changes in blood proteins that can cause swelling of blood vessels (vasculitis)
  • High or low blood sugar levels (diabetes)
  • Headache
  • Nosebleeds
  • Feeling down, mood changes, or trouble sleeping
  • Low blood pressure
  • Feeling generally unwell
  • Dehydration
  • Your red blood cells breaking down (hemolytic anemia)
  • Certain types of skin tumors
  • High blood pressure, slow, fast, or irregular heartbeats
  • Increased levels of substances from normal and abnormal red blood cell breakdown
  • Increased protein in your blood that indicates inflammation
  • Increased uric acid in your blood
  • More sweating, or sweating at night
  • Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, or changes in your voice
  • Urinating much more or less than usual, or problems controlling your urine
  • Blood in your urine
  • Shortness of breath, especially when lying down (may be a sign of heart failure)
  • Problems getting or keeping an erection
  • Stroke, fainting, dizziness with a spinning feeling, or brief loss of consciousness
  • Chest pain that spreads to your arms, neck, jaw, back, or stomach, with sweating, shortness of breath, nausea, or vomiting (may be signs of a heart attack)
  • Trouble speaking
  • Trouble with balance or moving
  • Deafness or ringing in your ears (tinnitus)
  • Nerve pain or unusual feelings, especially when touched
  • Too much iron in your body
  • Feeling thirsty
  • Confusion
  • Toothache
  • Falls, which can cause injuries
RARE
  • Bleeding inside the head
  • Problems with blood circulation
  • Complete loss of vision
  • Less interest in sex (libido)
  • Urinating too much, with bone pain and weakness (signs of a kidney disorder called Fanconi syndrome)
  • Yellow skin, eyes, or mucous membranes (jaundice); pale stools, dark urine, itching, rash, stomach pain, or swollen belly (signs of liver damage)
  • Stomach pain, swelling, or diarrhea (signs of inflammation in the large intestine or appendix)
  • Damage to kidney cells (renal tubular necrosis)
  • Changes in skin color or increased sensitivity to sunlight
  • Tumor lysis syndrome: serious problems caused by dying cancer cells releasing substances, affecting kidneys, heart, and causing seizures
  • High blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary hypertension)
  • Sudden or worsening pain in your upper stomach and/or back that lasts for days, possibly with nausea, vomiting, fever, and a fast pulse (signs of pancreas inflammation)
  • Wheezing, shortness of breath, or a dry cough (signs of lung inflammation)
  • Muscle breakdown (pain, weakness, or swelling in muscles), which can lead to kidney problems (rhabdomyolysis)
  • Skin disease caused by small blood vessel inflammation, with joint pain and fever
  • Rupture of the stomach or intestinal wall, which can cause a very serious infection
  • Viral infections like shingles (painful blistering rash) and reactivated Hepatitis B (yellow skin/eyes, dark urine, right abdominal pain, fever, nausea/vomiting)
  • Rejection of transplanted organs (such as a kidney or heart)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Ferulinor if you are pregnant, might be pregnant, or planning a pregnancy, as it can harm the baby. Women who can get pregnant must use effective birth control before, during, and after treatment. If you get pregnant, stop the medicine and tell your doctor right away. Men taking Ferulinor must also use effective birth control if their partner is pregnant or can get pregnant.
  • Do not take Ferulinor if you are allergic to lenalidomide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had blood clots before, as this medicine can increase your risk of getting blood clots.
  • Tell your doctor if you have signs of infection like a cough or fever, or if you have had viral infections such as Hepatitis B or HIV, as Ferulinor can make them active again.
  • Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, as your doctor may need to change your dose of Ferulinor.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had a heart attack, blood clots, if you smoke, or if you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you get a widespread rash, red skin, high fever, flu-like symptoms, or swollen lymph nodes. These could be signs of a serious allergic reaction called DRESS.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you notice changes in your vision, trouble speaking, weakness in an arm or leg, changes in how you walk, balance problems, numbness, memory loss, or confusion. These could be symptoms of a serious brain condition called PML.
  • Tell your doctor if you have shortness of breath, feel very tired, dizzy, have chest pain, a fast heartbeat, or swelling in your legs or ankles. These could be signs of a serious lung condition called pulmonary hypertension.
