How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how many Ferulinor capsules to take each day.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not break, open, or chew them. You can take them with or without food, at about the same time each day your doctor tells you.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose based on your condition and test results.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low red blood cell count (anemia), causing tiredness and weakness.
  • Rash, itching.
  • Muscle cramps, muscle weakness, muscle pain, bone pain, joint pain, back pain, limb pain.
  • Swelling all over the body, including arms and legs.
  • Weakness, tiredness.
  • Fever and flu-like symptoms, including fever, muscle aches, headache, earache, cough, and chills.
  • Numbness, tingling or burning sensation on the skin, pain in hands or feet, dizziness, trembling.
  • Decreased appetite, changes in taste.
  • Increased pain, increased tumor size, or increased redness around the tumor.
  • Weight loss.
  • Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn.
  • Low levels of potassium, calcium, and/or sodium in the blood.
  • Underactive thyroid gland.
  • Leg pain (which could be a sign of a blood clot), chest pain, or shortness of breath (which could be a sign of blood clots in the lungs).
  • All types of infections, including sinus, lung, and upper respiratory tract infections.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Blurred or decreased vision.
  • Clouding of the eye (cataract).
  • Kidney problems, where kidneys do not work normally.
  • Abnormal liver tests, increased liver enzyme levels.
  • Changes in a blood protein that can cause blood vessel inflammation (vasculitis).
  • High blood sugar (diabetes), low blood sugar.
  • Headache.
  • Nosebleed.
  • Dry skin.
  • Depression, mood changes, difficulty sleeping.
  • Cough.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • General discomfort, feeling unwell.
  • Sore inflamed mouth, dry mouth.
  • Dehydration.
  • Breakdown of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia).
  • Certain types of skin tumors.
  • Bleeding from gums, stomach, or intestines.
  • High blood pressure, slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat.
  • Increased amount of a substance released from normal and abnormal breakdown of red blood cells.
  • Increased level of a protein indicating inflammation in the body.
  • Darker skin, discolored skin due to bleeding under the skin (usually bruising), skin swelling filled with blood (bruise).
  • Increased uric acid levels in the blood.
  • Skin symptoms, red skin, cracked skin, flaking or peeling skin, hives.
  • Increased sweating, night sweats.
  • Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, difficulty producing voice or voice changes.
  • Runny nose.
  • Urinating much more or less than usual, or inability to control urination.
  • Blood in urine.
  • Shortness of breath, especially when lying down (which can be a symptom of heart failure).
  • Erectile dysfunction.
  • Stroke, fainting, vertigo (inner ear problem causing a sensation of spinning), temporary loss of consciousness.
  • Chest pain radiating to arms, neck, jaw, back, or stomach, sweating and feeling out of breath, nausea or vomiting, which can be signs of a heart attack.
  • Muscle weakness, lack of energy.
  • Neck pain, chest pain.
  • Chills.
  • Joint swelling.
  • Slowed or blocked bile flow from the liver.
  • Low levels of phosphate or magnesium in the blood.
  • Speech difficulties.
  • Liver damage.
  • Balance problems, difficulty moving.
  • Deafness, ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
  • Nerve pain, unpleasant, abnormal sensations, especially when touched.
  • Too much iron in the body.
  • Thirst.
  • Confusion.
  • Toothache.
  • Falls that can lead to injuries.
RARE
  • Bleeding inside the skull.
  • Circulatory problems.
  • Loss of vision.
  • Loss of sex drive (libido).
  • Producing a lot of urine with bone pain and weakness, which can be signs of a kidney condition called Fanconi syndrome.
  • Yellowing of the skin, mucous membranes, or eyes (jaundice), pale stools, dark urine, itchy skin, rash, stomach pain, or swollen stomach, which can be signs of liver damage (liver failure).
  • Stomach pain, swollen stomach, or diarrhea, which can be signs of colon inflammation (colitis or appendicitis).
  • Kidney cell damage (called renal tubular necrosis).
  • Skin color changes, sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Tumor lysis syndrome, a group of problems that happen when cancer cells break down quickly, releasing chemicals into the blood that can cause kidney or heart problems, seizures, and sometimes death.
  • High blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary hypertension).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Ferulinor if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to get pregnant, as it can harm the baby.
  • Do not use Ferulinor if you are allergic to lenalidomide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had blood clots before, as this medicine can increase your risk of new blood clots.
  • Tell your doctor if you have signs of infection (like cough or fever), or if you have had viral infections such as hepatitis B, shingles, or HIV.
  • Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, as your dose may need to be adjusted.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had a heart attack, blood clots, if you smoke, or if you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
  • Get urgent medical help if you develop a severe rash, hives, swelling of the face/mouth, difficulty breathing, or widespread skin peeling. These could be signs of a serious allergic reaction.
  • Do not break, open, or chew the capsules, as the medicine inside can be harmful.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel dizzy, tired, sleepy, or have blurred vision after taking this medicine.
  • Report any changes in vision, speech, arm/leg weakness, walking, balance, numbness, or memory problems to your doctor immediately, as these could be signs of a serious brain condition called PML (Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy).
  • Tell your doctor right away if you experience shortness of breath, tiredness, dizziness, chest pain, fast heartbeat, or swelling in your legs or ankles, as these could be signs of a serious lung condition called pulmonary hypertension.
