Ferulinor is a medicine that contains lenalidomide and is used to treat certain blood and lymph node cancers, such as multiple myeloma and lymphomas, in adults by affecting the immune system.

How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine the correct dose for your condition.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not break, open, or chew the capsules. Take the capsule around the same time each day, with or without food.

Important

The doctor will determine the maximum daily dose based on your treatment cycles and individual needs.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Decreased red blood cells (anemia), leading to fatigue and weakness.
  • Rash, itching.
  • Muscle cramps, muscle weakness, muscle pain, bone pain, joint pain, back pain, limb pain.
  • Generalized swelling, including swelling in arms and legs.
  • Weakness, fatigue.
  • Fever and flu-like symptoms (fever, muscle ache, headache, earache, cough, chills).
  • Numbness, tingling or burning sensation on skin, pain in hands/feet, dizziness, tremor.
  • Decreased appetite, altered taste.
  • Increased pain, tumor size, or redness around tumor.
  • Weight loss.
  • Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn.
  • Low potassium, calcium, and/or sodium levels in blood.
  • Underactive thyroid.
  • Leg pain (may be a symptom of blood clot), chest pain or shortness of breath (may be pulmonary embolism).
  • All types of infections including sinus, lung, and upper respiratory tract infections.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Blurred or reduced vision.
  • Clouding of the eye (cataract).
  • Kidney problems, kidneys not functioning normally.
  • Abnormal or elevated liver values.
  • Changes in blood protein causing blood vessel swelling (vasculitis).
  • High or low blood sugar.
  • Headache.
  • Nosebleed.
  • Dry skin.
  • Depression, altered mood, sleep problems.
  • Cough.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Vague discomfort, feeling unwell.
  • Sore inflamed mouth, dry mouth.
  • Dehydration.
  • Breakdown of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia).
  • Certain types of skin tumors.
  • Bleeding from gums, stomach, or intestines.
  • High blood pressure, slow, fast or irregular heartbeat.
  • Increased substance from normal/abnormal breakdown of red blood cells.
  • Increased protein indicating inflammation.
  • Darker or discolored skin due to bleeding under skin (bruises), skin rash, red, cracked, flaky or peeling skin, hives, skin swelling with blood.
  • Increased uric acid in blood.
  • Increased sweating, night sweats.
  • Difficulty swallowing, sore throat, impaired voice quality or voice changes.
  • Runny nose.
  • Producing much more or much less urine than usual, or inability to control urine, blood in urine.
  • Shortness of breath, especially when lying down (heart failure symptom).
  • Erection difficulties.
  • Stroke, fainting, dizziness (inner ear problem causing sensation of spinning), temporary unconsciousness.
  • Chest pain radiating to arms, neck, jaw, back or stomach, sweating and shortness of breath, nausea or vomiting (heart attack symptoms).
  • Muscle weakness, lack of energy.
  • Neck pain, chest pain.
  • Chills.
  • Joint swelling.
  • Slow or blocked bile flow from liver.
  • Low phosphate or magnesium in blood.
  • Speech difficulties.
  • Liver damage.
  • Impaired balance, difficulty moving.
  • Deafness, ringing in ears (tinnitus).
  • Nerve pain, unpleasant abnormal sensation especially when touched.
  • Excess iron in body.
  • Thirst.
  • Confusion.
  • Toothache.
  • Falls that can lead to injury.
RARE
  • Bleeding inside the skull.
  • Circulation problems.
  • Loss of vision.
  • Decreased libido.
  • High urine production with bone pain and weakness, which may be symptoms of Fanconi syndrome (a kidney disorder).
  • Yellowing of skin, mucous membranes, or eyes (jaundice), light stools, dark urine, skin itching, rash, stomach pain or bloated stomach, which may be symptoms of liver damage or liver failure.
  • Stomach pain, bloated stomach or diarrhea, which may be symptoms of inflammation in the colon or appendix.
  • Kidney cell damage (renal tubular necrosis).
  • Changes in skin color, sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Tumor lysis syndrome (a condition where cancer cells break down quickly, releasing substances that can cause kidney or heart problems).
  • High blood pressure in blood vessels supplying the lungs (pulmonary hypertension).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Ferulinor if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are planning a pregnancy, as it can harm the unborn baby. If you can become pregnant, you must use effective birth control.
  • Stop taking Ferulinor and get medical help right away if you have signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as hives, rash, swelling of your face, lips, mouth, or throat, or trouble breathing.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had blood clots before, as this medicine can increase your risk of developing new blood clots.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you develop a widespread rash, red skin, high fever, flu-like symptoms, or enlarged lymph nodes, as these can be signs of severe skin reactions (like DRESS).
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have signs of an infection like fever, chills, sore throat, cough, or mouth sores.

  • Inform your doctor immediately if you experience new or worsening vision problems, speech difficulties, weakness in your limbs, balance issues, numbness, memory loss, or confusion, as these could be signs of a serious brain condition called PML.
