How to Use
Dosage

This medicine is given by a doctor or nurse as an injection into a vein (intravenously).

Your doctor or nurse will manage your dose and ensure you do not receive too much, as this medicine is given in a hospital setting.
Possible Side Effects
RARE
- •Chest pain or angina
- •Irregular heartbeat
- •Feeling your heart pound in your chest
- •Brain hemorrhage (symptoms like speech problems, dizziness, paralysis on one side of the body)
- •Psychosis (losing touch with reality)
- •Allergic reaction
- •Excessively wide pupils
- •Increased pressure in the eye (worsening of glaucoma)
- •Restlessness
- •Anxiety
- •Confusion
- •Headache
- •Nervousness
- •Insomnia (difficulty falling or staying asleep)
- •Tremor (shaking)
- •Burning sensation on the skin
- •Tingling or prickling sensation on the skin (paresthesia)
- •Slow or fast heartbeat
- •High blood pressure
- •Difficulty breathing
- •Fluid in the lungs
- •Nausea

- •Pale skin or pallor
- •Goosebumps (hair standing on end)
- •Tissue damage at the injection site

- •Difficulty urinating or inability to urinate (urinary retention)
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to phenylephrine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
- Do not use if you have high blood pressure.
- Do not use if you have severe problems with blood circulation in your arms or legs.
- Do not use if you are taking certain medicines for depression (MAOIs) or have stopped them less than 2 weeks ago.
- Do not use if you have a severe overactive thyroid gland.
