Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to phenylephrine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have high blood pressure.
  • Do not take if you have poor circulation in your limbs (peripheral vascular disease).
  • Do not take if you have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism).
  • Do not take if you are using medicines that narrow blood vessels (e.g., ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, methylphenidate).

  • Do not take if you are using certain medicines for depression called MAO inhibitors (e.g., iproniazid, nialamid), or if you have stopped taking them less than 2 weeks ago.
  • Do not take if you are using certain oral or nasal medicines that narrow blood vessels (e.g., etilefrine, midodrine, oxymetazoline).
  • Do not take if you have a shallow anterior chamber of the eye or a history of sudden eye pressure increase (acute narrow-angle glaucoma).
  • Tell your doctor if you are elderly.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems like a slow heart rate, partial heart block, heart muscle disease, or poor blood flow to the heart.
  • Tell your doctor if you have poor blood flow to your brain.
  • Tell your doctor if you have hardening and thickening of artery walls (arteriosclerosis).
  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes.
  • Your blood pressure will be monitored closely during treatment.
