How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will prescribe the correct patch strength. Each patch contains medicine designed to be released continuously for 3 days (72 hours).

Method

Change the patch every three days (72 hours), always at the same time of day. Remove the old patch before applying a new one. For adults, apply to a flat area of the upper body or arm; for children, always to the upper back. Avoid joints, irritated, broken, or very hairy skin, and do not reuse the same spot.

Important

The maximum daily dose is continuous and determined by the prescribed patch strength, releasing medicine steadily for 72 hours.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Fentanyl Sandoz if you are allergic to fentanyl or any of its ingredients, have short-term pain (like acute pain or post-surgery pain), or experience slow or shallow breathing.
  • Fentanyl Sandoz can cause life-threatening side effects in people who do not regularly use doctor-prescribed opioid pain medicines.
  • Fentanyl Sandoz can be life-threatening for children; both used and unused patches are dangerous if a child gets hold of them or puts them in their mouth, which can lead to death. Store this medicine in a safe place, out of reach of children and others.
  • Apply the patch only to the person it was prescribed for; if the patch sticks to another person's skin, remove it immediately and contact a doctor.
  • Do not expose the patch or the application area to direct heat, such as heating pads, hot water bottles, long hot baths, sunbathing, or saunas, as this can increase medicine absorption.
