  • Feeling confused or neurological problems after surgery
RARE
  • Feeling very happy or 'high' (euphoria)
  • Headache
  • Vein inflammation
  • Changes in blood pressure
  • Fast breathing (hyperventilation)
  • Hiccups
  • Chills
  • Low body temperature
  • Breathing problems from anesthesia
  • Restlessness after surgery
  • Complications from the medical procedure
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Severe allergic reaction (hives, itching, trouble breathing, face swelling)
  • Seizures (convulsions)
  • Fainting or loss of consciousness
  • Muscle twitches
  • Heart stops (cardiac arrest)
  • Withdrawal symptoms (like nausea, vomiting, anxiety, sweating, tremors)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Fentanyl if you are allergic to fentanyl or other opioid pain medicines.
  • Tell your doctor if you have breathing problems, low blood pressure, or high pressure in your head.
  • Inform your doctor if you have thyroid issues, lung, liver, or kidney disease, or myasthenia gravis.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • Avoid driving or operating machines for at least 24 hours after taking Fentanyl, as it can affect your alertness.
