Felodipin ratiopharm lowers blood pressure by widening small blood vessels and is used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain (angina pectoris).
For high blood pressure or angina, the usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily, adjusted by your doctor up to 10 mg or lowered to 2.5 mg for elderly patients.
Take once a day in the morning with water. Do not split, crush, or chew the tablet. You can take it with or without a light, low-fat, low-carbohydrate meal.
The maximum daily dose is 10 mg.
Suitable for older adults. Significant adverse effects include ankle oedema and orthostatic hypotension. Consider potential interactions. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 17.2.2025)
