How to Use

Dosage

For high blood pressure or chest pain, start with 5 mg once daily. Your doctor may increase the dose to 10 mg once daily, or start with 2.5 mg for older patients.

Method

Take tablets whole with water in the morning, with or without a light, low-fat meal. Do not split, crush, or chew.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 10 mg once daily.

  • Hives
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Impotence or other sexual dysfunction
  • Gum inflammation (swollen gums)
  • Elevated liver enzyme levels
  • Skin reactions due to increased sensitivity to sunlight
  • Inflammation of small blood vessels in the skin
  • Frequent urination
  • Hypersensitivity reaction, such as fever or swelling of the lips and tongue

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Felodipin ratiopharm if you are pregnant.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to felodipine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have untreated heart failure, recently had a heart attack, severe or prolonged chest pain (angina pectoris), or certain heart valve or muscle diseases without first talking to your doctor.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience very low blood pressure, dizziness, or chest pain, as these can be signs of insufficient blood flow to the heart.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you have liver problems.

  • This medicine may cause gum swelling; practice good oral hygiene to prevent this.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children.
  • Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can increase its effects and side effects.
  • Avoid herbal remedies containing St. John's Wort, as they can reduce the medicine's effectiveness.
  • Always tell your doctor about all other medicines, including herbal remedies, that you are taking or have recently taken, as they might affect how Felodipin ratiopharm works.

Category A
