How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is one 5 mg tablet once daily; for long-term treatment, the dose is typically 5-10 mg once daily, and elderly patients may start with 2.5 mg once daily.

Method

Take the tablet whole with water in the morning, either on an empty stomach or with a light meal low in fat and carbohydrates; do not split, crush, or chew it.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 10 mg once a day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to felodipine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have recently had a heart attack.
  • Do not use if you have recently had chest pain (angina pectoris) that lasted at least 15 minutes or is more severe than usual.
  • Do not use if you have uncontrolled heart failure.
  • Talk to your doctor before using if you have a heart valve or heart muscle disease.

  • Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can increase the medicine's effects and side effects.
  • Avoid medicines containing St. John's Wort (used for depression) as they may reduce the effect of Felodipin Hexal.
  • Felodipin Hexal is not recommended for use in children.
  • Talk to your doctor before using if you have liver problems.
  • This medicine can sometimes cause very low blood pressure, leading to dizziness and chest pain; seek immediate medical attention if these symptoms occur.
