How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 5 mg once a day. For long-term treatment, the dose is typically 5-10 mg once a day. Elderly patients might start with 2.5 mg once daily.

Method

Take Felodipin Hexal tablets in the morning with water. Do not halve, crush, or chew the tablet. You can take it on an empty stomach or with a light meal that is low in fat and carbohydrates.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 10 mg.

  • Muscle pain
  • Impotence or sexual dysfunction
  • Gingivitis (swollen gums)
  • Increased liver enzyme levels
  • Skin reactions due to increased sensitivity to sunlight
  • Inflammation of small blood vessels in the skin
  • Frequent urination
  • Hypersensitivity reactions, such as fever or swelling of the lips and tongue

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to felodipine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have recently had a heart attack.
  • Do not use if you have recently had chest pain (angina pectoris) that lasted at least 15 minutes or was more severe than usual.
  • Do not use if you have uncontrolled heart failure.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have a heart valve or heart muscle disease.

  • Do not use if you are pregnant. Tell your doctor as soon as possible if you become pregnant while taking this medicine.
  • Felodipin Hexal is not recommended for children.
  • Do not drink grapefruit juice when using Felodipin Hexal, as it can increase the effect and side effects of the medicine.
  • Felodipin Hexal can sometimes lower your blood pressure too much, causing dizziness and chest pain. If this happens, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Talk to your doctor before using Felodipin Hexal, especially if you have liver problems.
  • Felodipin Hexal may cause swollen gums. Maintain good oral hygiene to prevent this.
  • If you experience severe allergic reactions such as hives, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat, stop taking Felodipin Hexal and contact a doctor immediately.

Category A
