How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose, usually 50-100 units of Feiba per kg of body weight.

Method

Feiba is given slowly into a vein after the powder is dissolved with the provided liquid, at an infusion rate of 2-10 units per kg of body weight per minute.

Important

Do not exceed 200 units of Feiba per kg of body weight per day.

  • Fibrin depletion syndrome (DIC), a severe blood clotting disorder

  • Stroke (thrombotic stroke, embolic stroke)
  • Drowsiness
  • Altered taste
  • Heart attack (myocardial infarction)
  • Rapid heart rate (tachycardia)
  • Blood clot formation that travels in blood vessels (thromboembolic events, venous or arterial thrombosis)
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Redness
  • Pulmonary embolism (lung blood clot)
  • Airway constriction (bronchospasm)
  • Wheezing
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Feiba if you are allergic to the active substance or any other ingredient.
  • Do not use Feiba if you have disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), a severe blood clotting disorder.
  • If you have had a heart attack, blood vessel blockage, or blood clot, Feiba should only be used for life-threatening bleeding.
  • If you experience symptoms like skin redness, rash, itching, swelling of lips or tongue, breathing difficulties, chest tightness, malaise, dizziness, or a drop in blood pressure, stop the infusion immediately and contact your doctor.
  • If your blood pressure or heart rate changes strongly, or you have breathing difficulties, cough, or chest pain, stop the infusion immediately and contact your doctor.

  • Concomitant use with recombinant Factor VIIa (rFVIIa) may increase the risk of blood clots.
  • Do not use the product if the package or sterile seal is damaged, or if the solution is cloudy or contains particles.
  • Do not store in the refrigerator after reconstitution; use the solution within three hours.
