How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose, usually 50-100 units per kg of body weight.

Method

Feiba is given as a slow injection into a vein (intravenously) after mixing the powder with the liquid provided.

Important

Do not exceed 200 units per kg of body weight per day. A single dose should not be more than 100 units/kg unless severe bleeding requires more.

Important Warnings

  • Tell your doctor if you have allergies. Feiba can cause serious allergic reactions. If you notice signs like skin rash, itching, swelling of face/lips/tongue, trouble breathing, chest pain, or dizziness, stop the infusion and seek medical help right away.
  • Feiba can increase the risk of blood clots. If you have a severe clotting disorder (DIC), or have recently had a heart attack or stroke, Feiba should only be used for very dangerous bleeding.
  • Feiba contains sodium. Tell your doctor if you are on a low-sodium diet.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant, or planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • This medicine is made from human plasma. While measures are taken to prevent infections, a small risk of transmitting unknown viruses or other agents cannot be completely ruled out.
