How to Use
Dosage
The usual dose is one 10 mg tablet once a day.
Method
Take the tablet by mouth at any time of day, with or without food. If you take it with a statin, you can take both medicines at the same time. If you take it with a bile acid sequestrant (like cholestyramine), take Ezetimibe ratiopharm at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after the sequestrant.
Important
The maximum daily dose is one 10 mg tablet.

- •high liver enzyme levels in blood tests

- •increased muscle enzyme levels in blood tests (creatine kinase)

- •neck pain
- •poor appetite
- •general pain (body aches)
- •chest pain
- •hot flashes
- •high blood pressure
- •tingling feeling
- •dry mouth
- •stomach irritation

- •skin rash
- •hives
- •back pain
- •weakness in arms and legs
- •swelling, especially in hands and feet
- •dizziness
- •liver problems
- •severe allergic reactions (including widespread rashes or target-like rashes on skin)
- •breakdown of muscle tissue (can lead to kidney problems)
- •gallstones or inflamed gallbladder (causing stomach pain, feeling sick, throwing up)
- •inflamed pancreas (causing severe stomach pain)
- •constipation
- •low blood cell count (can cause bruising or bleeding easily)
- •feeling down or depressed
- •shortness of breath
Important Warnings
- Do not take Ezetimibe ratiopharm if you are allergic to ezetimibe or any other ingredients.
- If you have liver problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not take Ezetimibe ratiopharm with a statin.
- Ezetimibe ratiopharm is not recommended if you have moderate to severe liver disease, even if not taking a statin.
- Your doctor should check your liver function with blood tests before starting Ezetimibe ratiopharm with a statin, and possibly after starting treatment.
- Contact your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness. These symptoms can be serious, including muscle breakdown that can lead to kidney damage.
