How to Use

Dosage

One tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet whole with water, with or without food. Do not divide the tablet.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one tablet.

  • Ocular myasthenia (eye muscle weakness)
  • Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, tongue, and/or throat, which may cause breathing or swallowing difficulties (requires immediate treatment)
  • Raised red, sometimes target-like rashes
  • Liver problems
  • Cough
  • Heartburn
  • Decreased or loss of appetite
  • High blood pressure
  • Rash and itching
  • Tendon injury
  • Gallstones or gallbladder inflammation (which can cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting)
  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), often with severe abdominal pain
  • Decreased blood cell count, which can cause bruising or bleeding
  • Nasal inflammation, nosebleeds
  • Neck pain, chest pain, sore throat
  • Increased and decreased blood sugar levels (if you have diabetes, carefully monitor your blood sugar levels)
  • Nightmares
  • Numbness or tingling in fingers and toes
  • Decreased sense of pain or touch
  • Taste changes, dry mouth
  • Memory loss
  • Ringing in ears and/or head, hearing loss
  • Vomiting
  • Belching
  • Hair loss
  • Fever
  • Positive white blood cell test in urine
  • Blurred vision, visual disturbances
  • Gynecomastia (male breast enlargement)
  • Sexual difficulties
  • Breathing problems (including persistent cough and/or shortness of breath or fever)
  • Diabetes (new onset or worsening, more likely if you have high blood sugar, high fat levels, are overweight, or have high blood pressure)
  • Persistent muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness after stopping the medicine (may not disappear)
  • Severe skin reactions with peeling and swelling, blisters on skin, mouth, eyes, and genitals, and fever. Rash with pink-red patches, especially on palms or soles, which may burst. (Lupus-like syndrome)
  • Muscle weakness, tenderness, pain, rupture, or reddish-brown discoloration of the urine, especially if you feel unwell or have a high fever. This can be due to abnormal muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), which can be life-threatening and lead to kidney problems.
  • Unexpected or unusual bleeding or bruising (may indicate liver problems)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to ezetimibe, atorvastatin, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have or have had liver disease, or if your liver blood tests are abnormal.
  • Do not take if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, breastfeeding, or could become pregnant and are not using reliable birth control.
  • Do not take if you are using glecaprevir/pibrentasvir for Hepatitis C.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially if you also feel unwell or have a fever. This could be a sign of a serious muscle condition.

  • If you need to take fusidic acid for a bacterial infection, you must temporarily stop taking this medicine. Your doctor will tell you when it is safe to restart.
  • Tell your doctor if you have myasthenia (general muscle weakness) or ocular myasthenia (eye muscle weakness), as statins can sometimes worsen these conditions or cause them to appear.
  • Discuss with your doctor if you have kidney problems, an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), a history of muscle problems with other cholesterol-lowering medicines, or if you regularly drink a lot of alcohol.
