  • Elevated liver enzyme levels in blood tests (transaminases)

  • Elevated liver enzyme (transaminases) or muscle enzyme (creatine kinase) levels in blood tests (when taken alone)
  • Cough
  • Indigestion or heartburn
  • Nausea
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle cramps
  • Neck pain
  • Decreased appetite
  • General pain
  • Chest pain
  • Hot flashes
  • High blood pressure
  • Tingling sensation
  • Dry mouth
  • Stomach lining inflammation
  • Itching or rash
  • Hives
  • Back pain
  • Muscle weakness (general)
  • Arm and leg pain
  • Swelling, especially in hands and feet
  • Dizziness
  • Liver problems (other than enzyme elevation)
  • Allergic reactions including skin rash and hives, swelling of the face, tongue or throat, and fainting
  • Raised red, sometimes target-like rashes on skin
  • Muscle weakness with cramps, stiffness, or spasms
  • Severe muscle pain or weakness with red-brown urine due to muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis)
  • Gallstones or gallbladder inflammation (which can cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting)
  • Pancreas inflammation, often with severe abdominal pain
  • Constipation
  • Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia), which can cause bruising/bleeding
  • Depression
  • Shortness of breath

Important Warnings

  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, as this can be serious and life-threatening.
  • The risk of muscle breakdown is higher in some patients taking Ezetimib Sandoz with other cholesterol-lowering medicines called statins.
  • Do not use Ezetimib Sandoz if you are allergic to ezetimibe or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use Ezetimib Sandoz with a statin if you have liver problems, are pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • Ezetimib Sandoz is not recommended if you have moderate to severe liver disease.

  • Avoid using Ezetimib Sandoz with fibrates (other cholesterol-lowering medicines) as their safety and effectiveness together are not established.
  • Your doctor should perform blood tests to check your liver function before you start taking this medicine with a statin, and also after you start treatment.
  • Do not give this medicine to children and adolescents (6-17 years old) without a specialist's prescription, as there is limited information on its safety and effectiveness. Do not give to children under 6 years old.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat that may cause difficulty breathing or swallowing, or if you feel dizzy or faint with an unusually fast or irregular heartbeat.
