How to Use

Dosage

One Ezetimib Liconsa 10 mg tablet by mouth once a day.

Method

Take the tablet any time of day, with or without food. If taking with a statin, both can be taken at the same time. If taking with a bile acid sequestrant, take Ezetimib Liconsa at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after the other medicine.

Important

Do not take more than one 10 mg tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Abdominal pain, diarrhea, flatulence.
  • Feeling tired, headache, muscle pain or weakness.
  • Increased liver enzyme levels in blood (seen in blood tests).
RARE
  • Increased muscle enzyme levels in blood (seen in blood tests), cough, indigestion, heartburn, nausea, constipation.
  • Joint pain, muscle cramps, neck pain, back pain, pain in arms or legs, muscle weakness.
  • Decreased appetite, chest pain, hot flushes, high blood pressure, tingling sensation, dry mouth, itching, rash, hives.
  • Dizziness, unusual tiredness or weakness, swelling in hands and feet, depression, shortness of breath.
  • Liver disorders, gallstones or gallbladder inflammation, pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat causing difficulty breathing/swallowing; severe skin rash), muscle tissue breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), reduced blood platelets (thrombocytopenia) causing bruising or bleeding.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to ezetimibe or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use Ezetimib Liconsa with a statin if you have liver disease, are pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine is not recommended if you have moderate to severe liver disease.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, as this could be serious.
  • Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, even if not taking a statin.

  • This medicine should not be given to children under 6 years old. For children aged 6-17, it should only be used if prescribed by a specialist.
